Some kids decided to let all the air out of the bus tires at school so I might have to stay longer, which would really suck. Still, I'm out of RESA now and I don't have to be at school until 10:30 now. It's very epic.

I'm strongly considering doing July Wrimo this year. But then again I need something to write for Nano so I don't know. I don't think I will unless I come up with a second idea for July.

Currently reading Harpo Speaks!. It is an awesome book. Don't get me wrong, Groucho and Me is great, but Harpo Speaks is just wonderful and it has more to it. I found Groucho and Me to be rather short.

I'm Sick...

I've got Senoritis.

senoritis

A condition peculiar to high school seniors, hence the subword "senor" in senoritis. Symptons include a general apathy towards classes, homework, future i.e. college applications, restlessness and a "cannot do" attitude to surmountable school load.

I don't have failing grades or anything bad like that (yet) but I am very sick of school. I don't have the worse case of it, of course but man do I have it. I'm in college and I can't wait to leave. Where everyone else seems to feel that they need to be sad and scared I'm so ready to go. It's a little weird actually.

Right now I'm kind of starting to get my list of supplies around, a list of things I've got to do and when they have to be done by, Scholarships, and a list of stuff I'm going to be doing over the summer. I have 180 days to get everything done. It doesn't seem like a lot anymore...

I'm debating if I should take on an extra job this summer. I've got one right now and it's 30 hours a week for what looks like all summer so I'm really hesitant to get a second job. I probably won't unless it's crazy simple. I think I might be able to make a buck or two for checking
government papers for proper citation and grammar though.

I kind of feel a little bad about being so excited for college. I think I'm freaking people out a little. All my friends gave me weird looks when I said I was getting their e-mail addresses because I was putting my e-address together. I'm a little afraid about asking them for phone numbers and/or mailing addresses now... Also my poor mom probably feels a little sad because I always talk about moving away. It probably doesn't help I was looking through old photos either...

This is the hall I'm hoping to stay in:

INTJ

I've had a lot of work recently that needs to get done. Three papers, one research and the other two are choice pieces which I decided to make "short" stories. Said "short" stories have turned into a two part mini book written in the style of a Russian. That is right, all the speed and action of a friendly turtle race. It's extremely loosely based of Doctor Zhivago. That is if Dr. Z took place in a made up land that looks like Russia, only had three characters who where commies, anarchists, or don't care at all but jsut wanted to be evil dictators, and if Pasha didn't disappear.

Anyway I was surfing the web and I found a bit on my personality type(INTJ). It was kind of interesting and it amused me. I'm putting up because I need to post something there.

DEALING WITH AN INTJ

Be willing to back up your statements with facts - or at least some pretty sound reasoning.

Don't expect them to respect you or your viewpoints just because you say so. INTJ respect must be earned.

Be willing to concede when you are wrong. The average INTJ respects the truth over being "right". Withdraw your erroneous comment and admit your mistake and they will see you as a very reasonable person. Stick to erroneous comments and they will think you are an irrational idiot and treat everything you say as being questionable.

Try not to be repetitive. It annoys them.

Do not feed them a line of bull.

Expect debate. INTJs like to tear ideas apart and prove their worthiness. They will even argue a point they don't actually support for the sake of argument.

Do not mistake the strength of your conviction with the strength of your argument. INTJs do not need to believe in a position to argue it or argue it well. Therefore, it will take more than fervor to sway them.

Do not be surprised at sarcasm.

Remember that INTJs believe in workable solutions. They are extremely open-minded to possibilities, but they will quickly discard any idea that is unfeasible. INTJ open-mindedness means that they are willing to have a go at an idea by trying to pull it apart. This horrifies people who expect oohs and ahhs and reverence. The ultimate INTJ insult to an idea is to ignore it, because that means it's not even interesting enough to deconstruct.

This also means that they will not just accept any viewpoint that is presented to them. The bottom line is "Does it work?" - end discussion.

Do not expect INTJs to actually care about how you view them. They already know that they are arrogant bastards with a morbid sense of humor. Telling them the obvious accomplishes nothing.

The INTJ Prayer:
*
God, let me be open to other people's views, *
WRONG though they may be.

These are from here: http://fuzzy.snakeden.org/intj/ by the way.

Hey it's 2009! Shoot I missed that...

So I guess this is the first post of 2009 for me. Shoot, it's almost the future... Oh God! http://xkcd.com/354/

Umm yeah, blogger isn't working os well in Firefox. I am currently using IE. It makes me feel bad about myself. I don't even know why. It feels like I'm ditching good old Firefox. Really. It's kinda weird... Also I didn't open up Opera right away. That's kinda strange of me. I must be sick.

Sooooo, most probably know that Twilight is a pretty popular book. Heck it was turned into a movie before (luckly?) some of my favorites were*.

I haven't read it yet.

Actually I had no real intention of ever reading it. I was going to remain neuteral. I mean kids are reading that cool. It is getting hard to remain out of this whole deal though. All my friends have read it. All. Of. Them. Even one of the guys. Yeah. Even my sister has read it. I sorta feel out of the loop even though I know I will not enjoy reading them. I read the frist few pages and didn't much care for it (to put it lightly).

However I think I'm going to give it another shot. I mean maybe it's like Chopin's music. To Bob the dude of the street it may not be OMGWTFBBQ AWESOME!one!!!1!!!! but teach Bob to appericate classical music and how to play the piano and he'll go stark raving mad over it.**

If anything I'll come out of the experience with a copy of Dracula that I never would have bought, a MIST of at least the first book, and info for a compare/contrast essay.

I should probably go to bed now. I'm running off of like no sleep and stuff. I'm starting to make up weird things. It is kinda fun to just type though. I have reading to get done though too. T.E. Lawrence is calling!

*Ooooh I've got a whole list of movies that need to be done. First of "I am Legend" needs to have the CORECT ending where the MC finds out he's the *jerk* who was killing the poor zombies who were just trying to recuse the one he kidnapped. And Chopin totally needs a Non-Romance movie. And so does Mendelssohn. And Brahms. And Vivaldi. And Bach. And well I'll shut up on that note. And Cyrano de Bergerac needs to be made in English. Also a good version of La Boheme, not Rent, I want La Boheme and Marcell0 in all his awesomeness. Candide, 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World, and even good old It Can't Happen Here also need their own movies. Sure they would bomb but heck *I* want to see them. Of course if they didn't bomb they would also suck soooo maybe it's a good thing they aren't out?

**And this is why I shall never be quoted. I had 50k and it rocked so much. I ended up changing stories to a new one about a composer and his life (and death). It was pretty interesting and I like all the characters. Well except for the devil but you know he's not too likable. I am in absolute *love* with the MC's best friend. I have a lot of editing and finishing to do with the story. I've deleted so very much of it because it was bad bad bad and i have a lot to rewrite. Oh well.

In other news I'm in a writing class now. I get to write all the time. The only draw back is the teacher teachs the class really slooooooow like. I mean seriously who does any of the pre-writing? I find that it really cramps my style man (Yeah I should never say that phrase again...). I am currently working on a short story in that class. I've got a neato highwayman who is going to be the MC I think. His name is Marcel and he is a cocky sob but I love him. He's one of my role playing characters. Of course there is also the zombie story I could write or my new new role playing character could decided to take over so who knows.

Actually not that much has been going on. It's really cold here, and there is a lot of snow. It snowed about a foot friday and has been piling up and drifting around since then. There are dirfts that have to be about three feet deep in some places. I put up a weather ticker of East Lansing which is close to me so yall can see the temp.

----------------
Now playing: The Ramones - Cretin Hop
via FoxyTunes

My Nano Wrimo Progress

Well it has sucked as of this first week. I had a good first two days but then I had homework and decided to try to partition my hard drive and install Ubuntu on my computer and it didn't do so well. luckily it is almost the weekend again and I can play catch up. I think that this is how my whole Nano will go but thankfully the end of the month is on a weekend so it's okay as long as I manage to write something every day.

Thus far I'm a little over 5k in and have had nothing happen. I've still got another 5 characters to introduce too. Aside from the fact the story is about as exciting as a snail race I'm having fun. I had no intention of this story being really exciting once I really started to think it all out. I've got characters people are going to get to know and I follow their lives which are not overly exciting. The sort of story line is kind of influenced by Heri Murger's book Bohemians of the Latin Quarter which is sort of the same thing. I think the end will get more exciting when I have all the fun of torture and murder <s>and political stuff</s>.

Anyway I'm going to be introducing Harvey the smuggler/traveling performer, Alexander the noble, Maria the maid, Suzanna who is Harvey's wife, Jackson Wolf the pick pocket, and Kirra the POW. It should be fun. I'm also thinking that Mimi and Stephon will finally meet up for real.

And on a side note I so can't wait to kill Raphael and Vin.

A New Meme in the Making

That is all.

College Bound!

That's right I got into Michigan State University!

In other news 1 hour twenty minutes until midnight! I have a very vague plot. I'm not really happy with that little to go on either. I don't want to suck all the fun out of NaNo though so I'm going to write all my ideas in an almost comprehensive outline and go with that. I've got all the names of the characters both major and the important minor characters and I've got personalities and roles they will be playing. I just need to get it all written down...

I've also got a second plot floating in my head. It's not even fleshed out in the least aside from a main character and a vague idea about fascism and the interblags. My mind works in very strange ways. I blame the new XKCD epic story arch for the idea of this though.

In other news tomorrow is Halloween. I may be taking my little brother out Trick-or-Treating. I've got a costume too! It's a trench coat with watches and costume jewelry safety pinned inside. It kicks bum! Hopefully I'll get some candy from strangers and there will be a lot left over. I'm going to need all the extra sugar I need to have enough crazy energy to write 2k worth of words at God-knows-when in the morning.

I'll have to post tommorow about... something. Maybe the day after tommorrow actually...

----------------
Now playing: Barenaked Ladies - Another Postcard (acoustic)
via FoxyTunes

It's Almost That Time of Year Again...

Nano is just around the corner! And that means that in one month I have to finish up (most) of my reading, clean my desk/work space, try to get all homework taken care of before hand, ask about getting extra credit for every x amount of words I write, make playlists for my novel and characters, formulate my plot a bit more, get all the characters a decent bio, send in college applications, AND figure out just who I am going to be killing off in November.

And that is just in October. I have to write the actual thing in November and actually try to finish it on time. December looks like it is going to be going to my fictional rendition of the story of The Funeral Games (after Alexander the Great died). And that looks like it will be a hand full.

If you haven't guessed it yet I'm thinkin' that using history as my plot and just adding in new elements works very well. I'm thinking the Punic War, Russian Revolution, and Arab Revolt will make for some good plots too. If only I had some sort of life then maybe I would know less history and write less. Oh well.

THus far I have Raif and Stephon's bios done. I have 8 more to do... They rock of course. I ended up finding out that I was a liberal, surprise surprise, in Gov. As far as I remember I was only out liberal-ed by an exchange student. Ah well.

I've been following the conventions almost. I don't really like anyone who's running (well except for Ron Paul but only because Gravel isn't running anymore) so really I don't mind hearing all the bad things about all the candidates. I'm happy I'm not voting this year. For those of you who don't listen/read the new media Obama is getting tired of "change", Bidden is the opposite of change and is old, McCain says that Palin has experience with foreign polices because Alaska is close to Russia, and Palin is anti-me and thinks that the founding fathers wrote the pledge of allegiance with "under God" in it(it was written[the base of it anyway] in 1892 and "under God" was added in 1954). I should be president.

Ummm went to Renfest and haven't got much writing done. Not much else to say really... I'll post more later.

Opera Song Of The Week

I've been busy so I haven't put one up as of late. Oh, well.

This Week's Opera Song is "Rataplan"
Performed by Cecilia Bartoli

I really don't have an idea what this song is about or what opera it is from but it is from Cecilia's Maria CD and I like it. Rataplan means to make the sound of a beating drum. I think she does a good job at it. Plus I love trilled R's. Next week may just end up being Cecilia too. I found all of "Gelido in ogni vena" and I love it. It is Baroque though...

He's famous for his long - sword.

Cyrano de Bergerac is simply amazing. It is kind of sad in the end but it above all amazing. I am tempted to write up a review but I'm never very good at those. I either write not enough or too much. I suggest that everyone should read this book though. I wish I spoke French so I could read the actual non-translated version but that will just have to wait till after I speak Italian and German and possible Swedish(because Swedish is just awesome).

For those of you who haven't seen the Wishbone Episode the story is almost simple. Very simply it is about a man with a big nose who falls in love with the most beautiful woman in Paris named Roxane. Roxane falls in love with a very handsome man named Christan who is in Cyrano's regiment. Christan is worried that once Roxane hears him talk she will no longer love him and so he has Cyrano write poetry for him (Cyrano fears that Roxane will never love him because of his nose) and the pair become the perfect man. There is much wooing and poetry and talk about love including the balcony scene where Cyrano takes Christan's place and makes up a poem for Roxane. Roxane falls head over heels for Christan's sole after than. Sadly the men get sent off the fight the Spanish. A lot more happens after that but I'm not gonna say what it is.

The story is not just a love story though. It is a comedy too. I mean the MC has a GIANT nose. There is about two pages where Cyrano goes over ways to insult his nose after a Valvert calls it big. Everyone has a good line and there is a lot to laugh about. My favorite characters had to be Cyrano, Carbon, and the Cadets. Defiantly a must read.

Just in case that you need another reason to read this book Kevin Kline played Cyrano in the Broadway play of it that will be airing (one day hopefully soon) on PBS. Come on Kline as Cyrano is to DIE for.

Opera Song Of The Week

This Week's Opera Song is "Largo al factotum (Make way for the factotum)"
Performed by Sir Thomas Allen

Here's a little Aria which everyone should know from The Barber of Seville (It has a lot of good arias I still have yet to see it all though). I did okay, Dukie and I got a 3rd in on-leash obedience. I think next year if he has chilled out enough we will be going off leash. We did okay in everything else score wise but placed very badly. It would have been nice if my showmanship class hadn't been filled with people who where also in the champion class. It would have made me place 2 or 3 places higher. In agility Duke decided that it was fun to jump off the A-Frame and miss the whole bottom section (that is about a 4.5 foot jump from 4 foot in the air). We got a score of 90 points and came in last. I think we did good for this being his first year of agility and having a lot of energy. I also think that people in my group need to MOVE UP. Most of the people in that class have had their dogs on leash for several years and continuously score very high. It irks me. As for Rally-O I'm not going to talk about that class.

I have finished my first piano lesson book and now am on book two. I love my little keyboard and I really love playing classical music. I play one mean Non più andrai, farfallone amoroso too. I'll have to hook the thing up and post a recording someday.

Speaking of Opera I got two new CDs last weekend. My dad, sister, and I took a trip to East Lansing and stopped at the Barnes and Nobles. I was hunting (sort of) for Cecilia Bartoli's CD Maria. Schedulers didn't have it and I was kinda not happy about the selection they had for her. Anyway we swung by B&N and asked the guy if they had any thing by her. The guy was awesome. It turned out he worked the opera/classical section (which was friggin' huge like 4 shelf things and the back wall) so he knew just what I was looking for. We spent a while talking and he suggested that I check out, Anna Netrebko. Anyway I found Maria quickly and nabbed it. I almost her her Salieri Album too but I figured I should check it out first. Just for the heck of it I looked to see if they had a Bryn Terfel section. Schedulers doesn't and I didn't think they would either. I almost shouted when I saw they had one. A decently sized one too. I happily found his Tutto Mozzart CD and bought that too. I intend to go back there soon and get a few more CDs.

RenFest starts this weekend. Dad, Brother, and I will be going there on my brother's birthday. I can't wait. I offered to buy my brother something too as long as it costs under $20. We are also more than likely going to go see Gaelic Storm (and Blackthorn) at the Irish festival in September. w00t!

Sadly going to all this means I have to go back to work. I hate working. I would make a good bohemian though, 'sept I don't like being poor either. I will probably be working for two weeks (until the 29th anyway) from 7:30-2:30 to make money. XP But it will also mean that I will make about $464 gross so before taxes I will have $232 for spending (rest goes in the bank). Even with taxes I probably have about $200 dollars spending money. Unluckily I won't get this money till mid-September. I hate getting paid fortnighly, I really really do.

I don't have much to say about books today. I iwsh I did but I haven't been able to get much reading done. I'm still reading The Subtle Knife and it is driving me nuts. I love to book but I can't read very much of it at a time. I am sure a good part of my inability to finish anything is that I just don't want to read fantasy deep down. I am thinking about getting through TSK then reading Seven Pillars and It Can't Happen Here and possibly Slaughterhouse Five before I touch another fantasy book. If I actually get a copy of Bohemians of the Latin Quarter I'll finish that first but until then I am just reading off my computer little by little.

I have started thinking about NaNo already. I think this is going to be the hardest years (with government/advanced writing classes) and the easiest year (since I have written 50k and know *I* can do it). Right now I am having a little fun just writing short snippets about the characters I have. I have 8 characters as of now and only two have a story. Thus far I have:

Stephon Carlin the dandy

Mimi the bohemian (I know that's just how original I am)

Raif Lakoi the poor bum who's best years of his life where when there was a war and he was a solider on the front line. He has a plan to take over the world. (You know what it is an interesting tale even if I didn't think it up myself)

Kiah my necessary red headed fighter chick from nowhere

Jackson Wolf the clever rouge guy

Anton the tough fighter/militia who guards the city. (Actually he may disappear)

William Stewart the aristocrat.

Eber/Poldi, he actually does not have a name yet. He seems like like Eber beter though. He is my Papageno. Right now he is a homage to Mozzart and I can't bare to think of getting rid of him. He just so CUTE! Or at least loveable. He has existed for about 18 hours and already he has more history than everyone else.

I'll have to do a big post to <s>show everyone the guys</s> sort out who is who and what I know about them.

That is al for now. I should stop writting.

Opera of the Week

This Week's Opera Song is "Dunque io son…tu non m'inganni?(Then I'm the one…you're not fooling me?)" So with out further adu the opera video of the week.

This Week's Opera Song is "Pa-pa-pa-pa-Papagena!" Performed by Detlef Roth and Gaële Le Roi.

Papageno the bird catcher wants nothing more in life than a little wife. When he goes on an adventure he meets the one woman that was meant for him, a Papagena. At first she appears to him as a very old ugly hag but when he must choose between taking her as his wife or never having a wife he chooses her. She reveals herself to be a lovely woman whom he falls for. She is chased away though and he fears he will not see her again. But when he rings his magic bells she returns to him and there is much rejoicing.

Stardate 50806.27.0133

I should not be allowed to look at T-Shirts. I found a million and a half of them. My favorite is this one. Who wouldn't want old Figaro as their boyfriend? No only is he crafty, smart, sexy, and sweet he is also a barber (free haircuts!) and a Bass-baritone.

Of course because my next boyfriend will be dragged to the opera somewhat often (even if it means skipping a few meals in college) he will see (and love) The Marriage of Figaro (my so far all time non G&S opera). Because of this he will wear this shirt. The author's quote is totally spot on too: "Only the best character in the entire history of opera". Well he is next to Figaro.

There is also a shirt about Carmen which has a funny comment. Carmen was smart- can we say "stalker" ? Then there is a Don Giovanni shirt. Say's he was the ultimate stud. He has been played by Bryn Terfel so I must agree.

Moving on there is this. It's so true. When I do hum you won't know the song so just ignore it. This rocks because it's true. As is this, this, this, and this.

I found this shirt for people who think opera is all about fat laddies singing really really loudly and breaking glass. And this shirt will help me make friends who get my jokes! Or scare other possible friends away...

I happily found two Gilbert and Sullivan shirts too! They are old friends and need to be on the radio more.

Of course I just found this. OMGBBQ IT'S SOOOOOOO CUTE! KAWAI! *squee* *swoons* I'm getting that as soon as I go to college.

I will also be getting a roll up keyboard. Hopefully one that glows in the dark. It will be full of win.

Cherubino

Best. Books!

Well I’m reading 3 books now. The Golden Compass, Seven Pillars of Wisdom, and *gasp* Pride and Prejudice. Amazing what saying it’s a social commentary rather than a romance will get me to read. Well that and Mr. Darcy Comics. I’m only in chapter two of P&P so I don’t have a lot to say about it. It’s kind of slow I guess but I’ve read slower.Speaking of slow, Mr. Lawrence, as much as I love you, you use to many words to say what you mean to say sometimes. That being said Seven Pillars is a very interesting book. If you like that sort of stuff, I can imagine people would hate it very easily. This leaves The Golden Compass. This book is friggin’ awesome. I’m not done with it yet but it is really good. Read it.For those who care Flow My Tears the Police Man Said is good too but I do have to say that the ending kind of sucks. I was hoping for a bit more shadowy, bad-guy did it type ending though.Next on my list is going to be It Can’t Happen Here and then maybe Brave New World. That is after I finish all of P&P and His Dark Materials.

I don’t have a lot to say movie wise. I haven’t really watched much. Did see AFI’s 10 top 10. I’m adding The Malteese Falcon, Reds, A Clock Work Orange, and Vertigo to my list, I think I’m taking off Chinatown though. I have watched 2001, I didn’t love it. It was worth seeing and it wasn’t bad but it is not my sort of movie. I think that it may just be a kick arse book though. It certainly seems like you could get a lot of themes to write a paper about at least. I think this week I may just end up seeing if the video rental place has Psycho and Vertigo and watching that this week end. Hitchcock FTW!

I really need to get cracking on my story. I have rewritten the opening several times. It has yet to break a page. 0.o I’m taking this to fair too. I need to get cracking on my computer poster and newspaper article too. I may think about doing poems too. I can see it now my limericks verse a bunch of haikus and open verses. I like this idea. There’s also a division in the art class for pictures done with crayons. FTW!

Speaking of Fair I wanna cook! But, of course, we lack at least 1 ingredient for EVERYTHING I want to make. I have about 18 recipes I want to make. They range from doughnuts to funny Arabic and Italian food. You’ll never guess what I’m taking to fair.

I actually came on here to say something serious but I don’t remember what it was. Oh Well! Colonel Bogey March time!

Movies!!!!one!!!

Well I'll just start out saying that the story I had posted a bit of is no good. I've got a better idea now but not much written. I don't feel like typing it either so it will have to wait. Oh well.

Right now I am watching Lawrence of Arabia right now. It's awesome and probably has the greatest soundtrack ever. It's a real 10 out of 10 movie. It was shot on location which makes it even better so not only does it sound good it looks good too. Having said that it's slower than slow and not a movie for everyone. It is a lot of talking and walking with some war parts thrown in. I still love it. The part where the Arabs steal the horses is probably my favorite though the last hour and a half are probably the best part if a little sad. They don't make movies like this anymore. The characters has actually interesting and there is a plot. Even thought a lot of people wouldn't like it I would say everyone should watch it.

I'm also really bummed about not seeing this movie before I did my history report. This would be an awesome topic. Heck, I wish they talked a little about this in history class too. But, alas, I go to an American public school, and thought it is not a bad place it does lack in some places. I'll probably end up writing a mini report for the heck of it one day.

In other news I also watched The Road to El Dorado today too. I saw this movie ages ago and didn't like it. I found out it had Kevin Kline "in" it and watched it again. I loved it and would give it a 9 out of 10. It really is a nice looking film and makes me sad they don't draw out movie anymore. I would suggest watching it on youtube.
I don't think I have given a rating on Charlie Wilson's War either. While I'm at it I mine as well. It gets a 7 out of 10. It's a good movie but not really my sort of thing. I think everyone should see it though.

Such and Such

I have to start out by saying that the NCIS season finally was awesome. It was a little slow in some spots but that's totally okay because 98% of it rocked. I'm not going to say who died (even though I'm sure most people who care already know by now) or the twist at the end but man it was not cool (and yet it was).

I also am now proud to say I can easily encrypt my emails in thunderbird. I feel geek and love it. I submitted my key to a key server (pool.sks-keyservers.net) under humanoidcarbonunit{at}gmail {dot}com. It would be the 08ED7CF2 one because I disabled the other one. If you can't look up the key I do have it and can email it.

Anyways I'm working on a new story sort of. I don't like it to much yet, it's a little cliche but what the hey. The opening line is from NaNo.

Time flies when you have a broadband internet connection. Kaitlin Black knew this very well yet it did not matter to her. She was currently engrossed in several projects at the moment, some where more important than others. She couldn't help but pay attention to the most trivial project the most, watching mostly poorly made videos from various hosting sites. She rarely found any good ones but for some unknown reason she still look at the new videos. She figured that ti was ritual. Boredly she clicked on yet another video blog. It didn't look like anything special, and it didn't have a lot of hits and was probably just another bottle blond prep whining about how horrid her life was but still Kate clicked the link and waited a bit for it to load.

Yeah, its not the greatest, but oh well. It will get better.

TV and Movies; The Good and the Bad

I've been watching a lot of movies as of late. I'm slowly working my way through imdb's top 250 in no real order. I've seen all of 2 whole movies on the list (aside from the real popular ones like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Dr. Strangelove and Blade Runner). I've seen Little Miss Sunshine and The Shawshank Redemption. They both have earned their place on that list. Sunshine I would give an 8.7, it does drag a bit but the end makes it totally worth it. It kind of reminds me of a British comedy a bit. The Shawshank Redemption I give a 10 out of 10. It sounds like a movie that would drag a bit being about two guys in a prison but it doesn't and that's saying something since it's about 2 1/2 hours long. It is sad though. This week I'm going to watch Lawrence of Arabia, Charlie Wilson's War, and The Prestige. I'm also on the look out for The Elephant Man but I am not seeing it around where I live.

Of course after talking about movies that leaves TV. There's not a lot on TV right now even with cable. Sure sometimes USA plays House or NCIS and the Sci-Fi channel has Stargate SG-1 but that doesn't mean much since half the SG-1 episodes are not what I feel like watching and USA hasn't played either show in a while. I had History International for a while but I don't get that anymore and I haven't seen anything on Animal Planet in ages. That means I get network TV. Of course the problem with that is there is hardly anything good on there either; only during Primetime four days out of the week for an hour. There is Wishbone on Wednesday though, it may be for little kids but it sure has more brains than most shows for adults out there.

I theory I should be able to see some Met opera's (which are no longer on the radio) but I don't get HD TV at the moment. That means I get to miss Peter Grimes. Not a terribly great opera but I think it would look great at least. Hopefully I'll get to see Carmen and The Barber of Seville.

The End

Well Screnzy is done. It was a fun time but I didn't have a computer for about half the month so I had to write most of my script by hand then type it up. Of course as soon as I was ready to turn in my script I couldn't get online. I did manage to turn it in thought and now I am a winner with a total of 102 pages!

Anyway I am suprised to report that I actually stayed close to my outline. That's not something I can usually mange. I did change a few things about such as the pacing and characters that played a role but overall I was very close. Now I just need to think of some more plots that I want to write. I'm thinking about trying my had at short stories for a while to pick out my new characters. It would be helpful if I new what I was going to be writing... All I have at the moment is 24 different dogs with historical names such as Nero and opera names like Figaro and Rigoletto, I'm so ready to write stuff.

In other news this has to be the two best lolcats I've seen in a while. Or at least today:

Its kind of creepy but slightly amusing. The expression it the little things face is funny.I don't know why this amuses me. I don't even like CSI. NCIS is MUCH better.

In other news I get to go see the Mikado soonish. I get to order my tickets in June anyway and the show is August 1st. That's sooner than Carmen anyway which won't be anywhere near me until late April. I'm just hoping that is a good performance like the HMS Pinafore was.

And on a closing note 4H has started. I have to keep practicing with my Duke dog if we're going to be allowed to do off-leash like I'm hoping for. He doesn't do so hot when he has a leash on and he gets excited. He likes to chew his leash then and it's hard to get him to stop. He also has a feud going on with one other dog, a black lab that is about his age. Its a guy thing. From what I can tell (having handled a dog aggressive dog before) he's not the one starting the fight, its the other dog. Duke just can't let the other get away with making a threat though and tries to fight back. I would bet Duke has a good twenty pounds on the other dog and way more muscle so I don't want to see a fight. He's also has to throw his voice around a lot. Last time everyone say him he didn't have a deep bark because he was still a baby. Now he's got his big guard dog voice that he likes to show off. He does this by barking at everyone he doesn't know until he sees that they really don't care.
He's a bigger than that now but this is the most recent picture I have of him.

Sprites and Songs

After a long weekend and some work I finished coloring all my sprites. I didn't add to much on to them, I just colored them but I'm still proud of them. And rightfully so, I have the artistic ability of a 4 year old, I can hardly draw a decent stick dude. Anyway I'll post the picks of the little sprites.

Jack Asbery
Jack is not a really major character. He's kind of like Boatswain in the HSM Pinafore. He has a name and part of a song and some lines but he's not really a main character. He invets Gabe thought so he is totally needed. Jack is a baritone.

Patrick Jordan
Patrick is the main character and the first mate. The play is about him even though I had some issues picking out enough songs for him. I think I have it under control now though. Pat would be a tenor.

Captain Roderic Seda
Roderic Seda is the kind but somewhat absent minded captain. He is prone to chasing after women sometimes but the crew over looks that. He really is Captain Kirk meets Captain Corcoran, which is an intresting idea. He is a bass baritone.

Mary Madore
Mary is the Captain's Yeoman (like on Star Trek, if the position exists). She is in love with him but he doesn't know that. She is sweet and soft spoken. I have given her several solo's even though I don't really care for female singers. She is a mezzo-soprano. It's still a little higher than I like to listen to but hey.

Gaberel
Gabe is a robot made by Jack. The captain loves Gabe, Mary hates Gabe, Patrick has beter things to do than day dream about Gabe. The whole play is basically Gabe's fault. She doesn't love the captain and is the cause of him investing so much time into chasing her. Because of all the time chasing her he doesn't pay attention to Mary who becomes sad. This makes Patrick have a lot of work to do. Don't ask where Jack is because I don't know. Gabe is a soprano. She's shown in the pick as a blonde but I would rather have a brunet play her.

In other news I have picked out what would seem to be the soundtrack for the script. Its more along the lines of all the songs I'm paroding but hey soundtrack sounds beter and is faster to write. They are as follows(in somwhat of an order):

-If You Want to Know Who We Are (The Mikado)
-I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General (Pirates of Penznace)
-I am the Pirate King [Oh Beter Far to Live and Die] (Pirates of Penzance)
-Am I Alone (Patience)
-My Name is John Wellington Wells (The Sorcerer)
-My Eyes are Fully Open [It Really Doesn't Mater Patter] (Ruddigore)
-With Cat Like Tread (Pirates of Penzance)
-Poor Wandering One (Pirates of Penzance)
-Stay We Must Not Loose Our Senses/Here's a First Rate Opertunity (Pirates of Penzance)
-Things are Seldome What They Seem (HMS Pinafore) The Second Song
-When You Had Left Our Pirates Fold (Pirates of Pezance)
-Refrain Audacious Tar (HMS Pinafore)
-Fair Moon To Thee I Sing (HMS Pinafore) The First Song
-A Wand'ring Minsteral, I (The Mikado)
-Can I Survive This Overbearing (HMS Pinafore)
-Kind Captain (HMS Pinafore)
-Do You Understand [Duty Duty] (Ruddigore)
-This Very Night (HMS Pinafore)
-Pour O Pour the Pirate Sherry (Pirates of Pezance)
-For He's Gone and Married Yum Yum (The Mikado)

Some of the video's are less that 5 start but I think they get the point across.
